January 8th Billboard reports, in the article 'Springboard Distribution',' that '... Morningstar Records managing director Broderick outlined promotion plans on the new "Tender Aggression" LP and introduced the first Peggy March record in the U.S. since "I Will Follow Him." a single called "Average People..."

January 22nd Billboard Magazine in '11th MIDEM Biggest Ever with More Top Executives' reports that "Among the concert events, all of which will be held this year in the Casino, are....the French Variety Club record centenary gala with Gilbert Becaud, Paul Anka and Petula Clark (Tuesday. Jan 25, 9.30p.m.)...There will also be an international gala sponsored by the International Federations of Festival Organizations (FIDOF), featuring, among others...Peggy March (West Germany).' Peggy reports that Paul Anka couldn't perform at the French Variety Club record centenary gala and she was asked to take his place. She did rehersals and was ready to perform when Petula Clark objected. Peggy doesn't know why Petula objected but Peggy didn't get to take Paul Anka's place.

February 19th Billboard reports, in the article '6 Added To Music Series' that "... Last year's New Year's Eve EMI AV produced the show "Jetzt Geht Die Party Richtig Lor" broadcast by ZDF from the Rhein-Main-Halle in Wiesbaden, and in January EMI Electola released a double album featuring recordings from the show. Artists included Michael Schanze, Peggy March, Gitte, Marlene Cha-rell, Alice and Ellen Kessler, Heino, Udo Juergens, Roberto Blanco, Peter Kraus, Vico Torriani, Chris Howland, Lou van Burg, the Hot Dogs and the Hugo Strasser Orchestra."

June 11th Billboard reports, in the article 'Top Prize At Mallorca To West German Tune', reports that " PALMA-The West German entry, written by two Englishmen and performed by a U.S. singer, won the third Musical Mallorca international song contest here. Facing competition from 19 countries, You and I, composed by Les Reed and Tony Macaulay. and sung by Peggy March. US -born but resident m Germany for eight vears. won the golden trophy and first prize of $10,000. Judging was by a panel of -screen personalities and music-industry names under the chairmanship of Lalo Schifrin...The winning song, regarded as strong enough to put Peggy March back into the charts at international level is being recorded in London. Its release poses a problem however for she is contracted for German speaking territories only to EMI-Electrola and is free for other parts of the world. But in order to get worldwide release, it is likely that EMI will be offered first refusal. The involvement of Les Reed with the West German entry came when he saw Peggy March perform as a gala at MIDEM this year and was asked to write for her. The contest rules permitted him to do so and the result gave him his first win after participating in around 20 festivals..."

September 15th Appears on Starparade Number 39 along with Mireille Mathieu, Peggy March, Caterina Valente, Gunter Gabriel, Bellamy Brothers, Raffaella Carrà, Bonnie Tyler and Michael Holm. She sings Fly Away Pretty Flamingo.


September 20th Fly Away Pretty Flamingo reaches No 8 on the German Charts and is in the charts for a total of 14 weeks of which 6 weeks are in the top ten. Sales top 400 000.


September 27th Performs as a special guest artist at the Sopot ’77 International song competition. (In 1970 she had been a competitor). Her songs included What Now My Love, Killing Me Softly and Before The Parade Passing By.


October 29th Peggy appears on the ZDF Hitparade


November 12th Billboard reports, in the article 'Czech Is Winner At Sopot'' that "... Several artists from outside the Intervision area took part, and each concert featured a foreign guest act. The visitors included U.S. act the Ritchie Family, Sofia Rotau of the Soviet Union, Peggy March of West German). Linda Lewis of the U.K. and others from France, Turkey, Spain and Cuba. ..."

November 26th Billboard reports, in the article 'EMI-Electrola, No. 1 In Germany, Gears For 20% Increase In Sales' that "... In the field of national production, EMI's top sellers are Heino, Howard Carpendale - a South African who has been with EMI for 10 years - Irene Sheer, Katja Ebstein, Kraftwerk, Can and Peggy March."

December 3rd Billboard, in the feature RTL GERMAN HAS SIX MILLION LISTENERS, reports that Peggy March was one of the guests at the 20th Anniversary celebrations party held at the Dortmunder Westfalenhalle. In the same edition under 'Company Roundup' it is reported that "... On the European side, singles by the following artists were Accord successes: ...Santabarbara (Spain); and elsewhere by Nicolas Peyrac. Alain David, Black Blood, Gibson Brothers, Thembi. Adam and Eve. Christian Anders, Karel Gott. Heino, Mike Kennedy, Martin Mann, Peggy March, Monica Morell. Gavin Du Porter and Irene Sheer..."
