February 24th When the Rain Begins To Fall co-written by Peggy March and sung by Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora reaches No 1 in France and eventually sells over 1 million copies. The German version was sung by Lena Valaitis and Costa Cordalis (below).


March 4th Time Magazine (Music Section p.74) under an article titled ‘These Big Girls Don’t Cry’ refers to Peggy in their review of singer Cyndi Lauper ‘Part Piaf, part Little Peggy March, she also has that razzle-dazzle, multi-octave range, a voice that can coax a broken promise out of a ballad or pin a rocker right to the mat.’

July 15th Peggy is a guest on the IFA-Show Berlin.
