April 11th Billboard reports that Peggy was the 10th most played female artist in the U.S.

April 21st Leave Me Alone is released.

May 12th Peggy attends the NARAS Grammy Awards at the Waldorf-Astoria Grand Ballroom. Masters of Ceremonies were Skitch Hendwerson and William B. Williams.

August 1st J. Fukunishi reporting from Tokyo for Billboard in the 'Music Capitals of the World' section writes "...Little Peggy March will arrive Aug. 15 for a one-month concert tour..."

August 8th J. Fukunishi reporting from Tokyo for Billboard in the 'Music Capitals of the World' section writes ". . The same firm (Victor Concert Management) also signed Little Peggy March for one a month tour commencing Aug. 15." (This is the first trip to Japan by Peggy.) During this tour she performs at the Nichigeki Western Carnival.

August 11th Peggy is a guest on The Mike Douglas Show

August 14th Peggy appears as herself in the Film Holiday In St. Tropez and sings Lady Music.


August 15th Peggy leaves for Japan


August 18th Oh My What A Guy and Only You Could Do That To My Heart are released.

August 19th “Peggy joined the birthday celebration for Somegoro” - from left to right Ayumi Ishida, Mari Sono, Somegoro and Peggy.



August 26th - September 1st Peggy performs at the Nichigeki Western Carnival. Peggy recalls "The Japanese fans used to hand you a streamer...paper ribbon...while you were on stage, and then go back, tethered, to their seats.....I had quite a FEW".


September 12th Billboard have a photo of Peggy. The caption reads "PEGGY MARCH, RCA Victor artist, receives a bouquet from Japanese singer Hiroshi Kubo, on her arrival in Tokyo for her first personal appearance of Japan. Whilst there, she'll cut her first Japanese-language record."

November 14th Appears on Episode 7 of Season 7 of Thank Your Lucky Stars. This episode was hosted by Brian Matthew with help from Janice Nicholls. November 28th Billboard (under Munchen) reports that Peggy “arrived here to record her new German songs for the RCA Label”. The report also says that Peggy and Paul Anka will be appearing on the Werner Muller TV special. Under Cologne, Billboard reports that "Werner Mueller's "Schlagermagazine" — hit magazine TV program — will feature in December on German TV Rita Pavone and Paul Anka in a duet, Peggy March, Didi, the ABC Boys, and four vocalists from Czechoslovakia..." Under London, Billboard reports that " Baumberger also supervised the promotional visit of Little Peggy March..."

December 12th Appears on the Werner Muller TV special

December Victor release the single with both tracks sung partly in Japanese and English SS-1489


Her first Italian album (produced by Ennio Morricone) is released. Te ne vai the Italian version of Hello Heartache) reaches number one in Italy.
